Re-elect Democratic Incumbent

Judge Carlos Cortez

Dear Dallas County Voter,

Please accept my deepest thanks for electing me to the 44th State Civil District Court in 2006. I am grateful for the support I received from so many citizens in 2006 when I defeated Governor Rick Perry’s appointment to the bench. I am honored to have been able to serve the citizens of Dallas County. I have worked very hard to make the 44th State Civil District Court exemplary and the best State Civil District Court in Dallas County.

I am grateful to have been elected as a member of the Dallas County Democratic “Class of 2006”. Your hard work helped Dallas County turn blue in our historic Democratic sweep in 2006. I am now seeking re-election in the 2010 elections to continue my public service to the citizens of Dallas County.

This past election, I was honored to be a member of President Barack Obama’s 2008-2009 Presidential Inaugural Finance Committee. As part of the ceremonies in Washington D.C. leading up to the inauguration, I was asked to speak at Howard University to the student body and inaugural attendees. It was inspirational to meet so many of our country's leaders and to watch Barack Obama sworn in as the 44th President of The United States of America.

The 2010 Democratic Primary is March 2, 2010, and I am asking for your vote. I have broad based support from the citizens of Dallas County including:

  • Elected officials;
  • Precinct chairs;
  • Attorneys;
  • Former County, State, and Federal Judges;
  • and past and present presidents of various legal associations such as the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.

I thank you for your support and I will continue to work hard to merit your vote and more importantly… your trust.
